Tech Day Pitch Fest: Rules of Competition and ...winning
We will pick 2 or 3 teams from each location of the Silicon Valley Young Coders club to pitch their product as part of the “PITCH FEST” at the 4th Annual Silicon Valley Youth Tech Day 2018
These teams will be picked by the instructor of the location - based upon success the team has achieved in building their prototype, by running a location pitch fest. Teams are not picked solely upon their success in writing a business plan. See evaluation criteria below
Each team will have a total of 5 minutes to present their product pitch and product
At the end of 5 minutes the team will be asked to stop presenting.
Each team should review the criteria below to decide how they want to allocate their pitch time between the different components of their pitch
We suggest focusing on the demo (30% weightage) - or whatever else that will portray the complete picture of the value of their product and their thought process and work that has gone into this product. Our setup will allow teams to project their phone screen (iOS only), but technical glitches may occur. If you have an Android app please bring supporting laptop/adapters/cables etc that is needed for you to demo and project it on the projector. Please plan to have screen shots of your product in your presentation (backup slides) of your product that you can use in case the projection does not work.
VERY IMPORTANT: You are required to use the template from below.
Not using the template for your presentation may result in negative scoring. Please follow the sequence of the deck. There will not be time for Q&A
Teams will need to email shivaum1<at>gmail.com by the Friday midnight prior to pitch fest. Each team takes responsibility for sending the correct version deck to Shivaum by midnight. No changes to your deck permitted after Friday midnight.
We will use a single laptop for projecting the presentations and for attaching the demo phone i.e we will NOT be switching laptops
There will be wi-fi in the room, but please plan for a personal hot spot for your devices as needed
Please bring any adapters that are needed by your phone to be connected to a laptop for the projection
The judges will rate you on the criteria as outlined in the template below
